Catherine Gordon
Our president and founder, Catherine, has over 25 years of experience in communications and publishing. One of North America’s first plain language consultants, Catherine has worked with major corporations in the U.S. and Canada, including Merrill Lynch Insurance Group, Nations Funds, BMO Financial Group, Pacific Life Insurance Company, Fidelity Investments (Canada), Fiserv Securities, Inmet Mining, Cameco Corporation, TransCanada Corporation, Yamana Gold, Maple Leaf Foods, Canadian Tire, TIAA-CREF Life, and many more.
Catherine is a member of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), the Canadian Society for Corporate Secretaries (CSCS), Chartered Secretaries Canada (ICSA), The Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) and the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC). She has an honours degree in English literature, and has completed the ICSA Directors’ Education and Accreditation Program (Acc.Dir).
Shelley Sunohara
Our vice president, Shelley, has over 25 years of experience in marketing and communications, including 10 years in financial services. Her experience covers a variety of disciplines, from branding and advertising to corporate and client communications, research and media relations. She has a certificate in Marketing Management from the Richard Ivey School of Business, a bachelor of arts degree from Laurentian University, and she has passed the Canadian Securities Course.
Shelley is an expert plain language consultant, writer and project manager. She directs our design team and has been the lead consultant on many key print and interactive projects, including BCE, Canadian Tire, Cameco, CPP Investment Board, Cohos-Evamy and RBC. Before joining SimpleLogic, Shelley held senior management positions with RBC Financial Group, including director of communications for Royal Mutual Funds (now RBC Funds), and director of Public Affairs at Royal Trust. Shelley is a member of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), the Canadian Society for Corporate Secretaries (CSCS) and the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI).
Negin Bahrami
Negin is the lead designer for our quarterly board book production for Citi. She has contributed to a wide range of projects, including forms, brochures, circulars and website architecture. She holds a bachelor of design degree from York University/Sheridan College.
Past positions include in-house design for an architectural firm, a pharmaceutical company and a design agency. Negin is also a talented musician and co-founder of the Brazilian samba percussion group, Batucada Carioca. In her spare time, she’s also a pilot.
